Face to face with…..Jesus?

DSC_2489

A few weeks ago I was walking around downtown Flint. My goal was to take pictures for a coffee house project I was working on. As I was nearing the end of my excursion, I was face to face with Jesus. At least that is what the gentlemen told me. It was hard to understand what he was saying for the most part do to his fast speaking style and rough English skills. The one thing that rang out vividly was “I am Jesus.”  He noticed that I had a camera and was taking pictures and he wanted to see my camera. I skirted that part of the interaction and was able to fulfill another desire he had…taking his picture!

After he peddled off, I began to wonder, could that have been Jesus? There are those times in life when a certain person crosses your path and you sense that there could be more to the story than what you first thought. You can’t help but wonder if God brought these “people” into your path as a test of sorts. I am not saying that He is sending out all these “final exams” for us to pass, but sending these people by us to see if we may even “notice” Him.

When you are out the next time, stop and see if you can notice Him.

Where is the LOVE in this “judgement”?

abortion-car

I was driving down the expressway a couple weeks ago and came up behind a rolling billboard with a whole lot of lettering everywhere. As I got closer, I found myself trying to take it all in. There were different faith messages all over it. Even though I slowed and began to wonder what it was going to say, I already knew the perspective that I was going to find. If you ever have seen the Nooma “Bullhorn”, well you get the picture.

I find myself giving the guy some props for taking the initiative to take a brand new car and putting money out to describe a belief he has. Once that line of thought passes (quickly), I found myself just shaking my head and thinking “dude you were so close!”  When you read his vehicle, it is full of biblical truth. With that being said, where is the compassion that is lived out through the scriptures by who was it?…….oh ya, JESUS!!!!!!!!!!!  If only this guy understood that probably the majority of women who decide on abortion as the answer are living regretful lives. Post abortion feelings, emotions, physical traits are never anticipated before hand. So in the middle of this storm girls are fighting with, they get to roll down the street and get a face full of this car. If Jesus was in another car watching this, would He be saying “that’s right, you tell her!” or would he be yelling “NOOOOOOO! Tell her I love her and I can fill that void she feels and restore her.”  Which is glaringly possible?

Let’s take the time to truly look at our own hills we die on and say ” is my perspective in line with God’s perspective?”
